President Trump called Portland “War ravaged” to justify his move to send troops to the city. But in the days before his announcement, federal officials tasked with protecting government buildings said protests outside an ICE facility were “low energy.”

Oregon officials say the atmosphere outside an ICE building that has drawn daily demonstrations since June has grown worse since the president’s threats.

“This is a man who’s suffering dementia,” said @govpritzker.illinois.gov. “This is a man who has something stuck in his head … He doesn’t read. He doesn’t know anything that’s up to date. It’s just something in the recesses of his brain that is effectuating to have him call out these cities.”
Gov. JB Pritzker says President Trump deploying troops to Chicago due to ‘dementia’ and obsessive fixations
Democratic governor’s comments came as he continues to oppose President Donald Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to Chicago area for deportation efforts.

We believe healthcare is a right for every American.

But starting today, millions of people will be notified that they are being priced out of their insurance thanks to Republican policies.

Enough is enough. The GOP may shut down the government, but we will stand tall for YOU.

FINAL: Dodgers 5, Phillies 3

Los Angeles steals home field by scoring five unanswered runs — all with two outs. Teoscar Hernández’s three-run homer staked the Dodgers the lead, and Tyler Glasnow, Alex Vesia and Roki Sasaki shut down Philadelphia over the final three innings.

Hey mainstream news media. Maybe do your job and let people know just how fucking crazy this guy is. He’s trying to start a civil war.

Everyone is trying to have a normal Saturday night and the president's top advisor is on X announcing that civil war is necessary
@StephenM on X: Legal insurrection. The President is the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, not an Oregon judge. Portland and Oregon law enforcement, at the direction of local leaders, have refused to aid ICE officers facing relentless terrorist assault and threats to life. (There are more local law enforcement officers in Oregon than there are guns and badges in the FBI nationwide). This is an organized terrorist attack on the federal government and its officers, and the deployment of troops is an absolute necessity to defend our personnel, our laws, our government, public order and the Republic itself.

The WNBA Finals’ attention will rightfully focus on the Aces returning to the big stage and the Big Three of a gritty Mercury bunch.

But ESPN should effort to interview commissioner Cathy Englebert during the finals and press her on important subjects, writes @richarddeitsch.bsky.social.

NEW: In light of Napheesa Collier's comments on WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert, this is a moment where ESPN it can separate itself as a broadcast entity that covers the league.

Let's see what they do.
