Bridget don't be sad!! I know it *seems* ageist but actually these former priests are still equal in *dignity* to real priests. They just have a different role. But I find they are much happier after they stop denying their nature ☺️

oh noes 😔 time to defrock every priest over 33 welp

And for me, I’m someone who loves bridal mysticism! But the point of it is that I see in it a beautiful metaphor for the soul, not some literal revelation of a metaphysical reality that’s universally applicable and transferable onto everything??

Spare yourself from the worst of it while you can, Marguerite!!

It also makes me wonder do they think women who are farmers are by nature not suitable to sow seed literally then?! Like?? If the metaphor to the metaphor leads to that, what on earth do they take the literal sense of the metaphor to be then??

sucks I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

Personally I don’t think a priest can be older than 33 years of age. How can a priest be in persona Christi at an earthly age our Lord never reached? Is age, our mortal bodies interacting with time not the MOST metaphysically essential and relevant to everything??

That’s what I was trying to covey as delicately as possible already but I’m glad somebody is suffering with me 😩

sorry men can’t hear scripture or pray about it, because receiving the Word & holding it in your heart is inherently feminine.

sorry, boys & men can’t be baptized, bc baptism makes you a member of the Church, the Bride of Christ.

guy who makes an argument from scripture that height is "based on nature, permanent, and true" and therefore metaphysically essential and relevant to basically everything

At a certain point I’m convinced these men think sowing seed literally uses one’s penis or something. And I’m not sure how I feel about even having to type this out…
December 5, 2025 at 12:16 AM
Ah gotcha! I’m not used to that but is probably a good idea for if I am only getting to one office a day!

...Barth also says that the Virgin Birth had to happen because, among other reasons, men in particular had damaged the world so deeply by doing war and fascism (etc) that men in particular could have no part in the logic of the Incarnation.

Meanwhile, I’m wishing some very venerable elders of ours would just stand rather than give me a heart attack seeing them insist on kneeling at the rail 😩 (madam “101 years old I’m walking up the chancel steps and KNEELING you can’t stop me”)
December 3, 2025 at 4:32 AM
That’s what I mean! Most people generally aren’t concerned with anyone else at the rail 😂
December 3, 2025 at 4:28 AM
No stress haha Since it’s not a *statement*, most people don’t care 🤷🏻‍♀️ we generally assume you have a reason for what you’re doing. (Not to start discourse but with CWOB as prevalent as it is, your posture really isn’t people’s concern lol!)
December 3, 2025 at 1:27 AM
It really seems like it depends on where you’re at! I know lots of broad churches who do still have the rail where many kneel to receive (but ofc not mandatory!) But I don’t think it’s “uncommon” or a *statement* almost like it is with RC churches

Similar feelings here. I’ve been known to go to the RC cathedral at various feasts for TLM, I enjoy it! But I’m still always more grateful for our liturgy afterwards 😂
