Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

It's been a few days since Trump announced his "deal" with Xi. It's now clear that Trump got fleeced. America gave up lots and got nothing.

It's a story you should know bc few things matter more than the U.S.-China relationship.

The Republicans' shutdown message is abundantly clear:
Let us jack up millions of people's health care costs or we'll starve the poor.
I wish that was an exaggeration. It's not.

I looked it up once. SNAP takes 2% of the US budget and 93% of the money goes to the actual poor people instead of to the bureaucracy. So it's kind of like if you paid $1000 in taxes, you spent $20 on the poor of which they got to keep $18.60, and you spent $166.66 on the military.
SNAP is probably the most effective federal dollar we spend in terms of long term domestic economic outcomes.

that isn’t why you should support it; you should support it because it is a moral imperative to feed the hungry.

but it’s why even a growth-oriented ghoul shouldn’t oppose it.

These should be everywhere.
Wildlife crossings (also called animal bridges) connect habitats that have been cut off by roads. They allow deer, wild boars, foxes, and many other animals to cross safely – and simultaneously reduce wildlife-related accidents.
