I have a dog, some lacemaking skills, and some books.

Not my real name.

Disability comes for us all sooner or later, which is why you shouldn't make explicitly bigoted and ageist views a centerpiece of your congressional campaign.

To deny justice is to breach the peace

"No justice, no peace" is really not a threat, it's just a fact

Everyone from the FBI to Obama to any civil rights activist has tried to explain to the public these last 75 years and it literally never sticks. The rest of the FBI had to explain this to Hoover, even. Saying this isn’t true isn’t the pro-intellectual position.

Look man, if pointing at a video and saying "come on!" worked, Johannes Mehserle, & Stacy Koon would be in prison.

I wouldn't exactly call this stuff successful given how they've been repeatedly no-billed, dismissed with prejudice, or nullified.

I guess I come to a different conclusion on the same assumptions.

Like, I see the claim of "they didn't seriously try" as, essentially, a claim that success under the rules was possible. "They could've impeached him, they could've jailed him. If only they'd been more vigorous."

I also think it's important to learn the right lessons from this because if we go into the next time thinking "we just gotta go faster so John Roberts & Congressional Republicans will be over awed by our Will To Power!" we're gonna have a bad time.

People have this backwards idea that it’s the job of politicians to convince voters. That’s backwards. It’s the job of voters to elect good people. The core problem is how many bad voters there are with wrong beliefs. The problem didn’t start in politics and the solution won’t come from politics.

I keep saying this. If you want activism, messaging, persuasion, outreach, politicians are the worst place to start. People don’t want to hear it from electeds! You’re way, way better off pressuring actors and influencers and video game streamers to speak out than dem legislators.

Insisting that our politicians also double as actors and influencers and video game streamers to close that circle has turned out to be ...fraught.
