Like, they have talented performers, sure, but the writing itself just carries the qualities of the weakest YA tropes.

My mom knew how to sew since she was a kid and she had the eye of a designer. She and I love fashion and I used to dress up in outfits just for her. I always glowed when she liked what I wore.

I've been dressing up a lot for work and I miss hearing her enthusiasm.
