It’s very simple imagery that shows the growth Goku has undergone, Kuririn being alive is the end result of everything Goku had been fighting for, and Kuririn’s excitement over seeing Goku again at the tournament where he died puts a nice cathartic bow on the story.

It’s like poetry, it rhymes.

The Piccolo Daimao Arc opens at the Tenkaichi Budokai with Kuririn dead, and Goku overcome by grief and rage.

The final panels of the arc has Goku in a calm meditative state and Kuririn alive thanking Goku and excited to see him again at that same tournament.

True, but Goku vexes Vegeta by merely existing. If Goku intentionally pushed his buttons I’d agree, but Vegeta barely matters to Goku.
