Oh hi it's me your pal Panic.

Strident literary feminist. Publishing desk job. Ran one marathon one time.

"Worryingly erotic." "Disagreeable, quite shouty." "Alienating, dangerous, and perverse."

#Toronto
I think I should have gotten a better background in psychoanalytic theory before attempting this. (Or just be smarter.)

Isn't it just this upside down?

There's a garden on the roof and there are big sculptures of roses made of smashed Royal Dalton. (Sorry for the quality these are screenshots of Instagram posts from 2017)

This year, as in all years, I will be playing Whamagettin.

Last minute resale Gowan tickets to a sold out Massey Hall gave great return on investment. I never got to see him in the 80s but y'know, 40 years later (😬) he's still doing a hell of a show. We had a Nice Time.

Look at all my fictional cats!!!

(I was hoping playing this again would be soothing but I'm too type A for that I think. MUST PLAY CUTE GAME THE MOST CORRECT)

I'm about almost done and it really feels different than I thought it would. I was suspicious, thought "oh please don't ask me to care about some dude's awkward sexuality/relationships/masculinity crisis," especially given all we've been reading about men's sexuality in the past few days.

Eating all the paneer before it can get in the saag: a love story.

Um, is it THIS pub cat? (I believe his name is The Commander and I know he lives at Seven Stars Holborn because I met him!)

Grimshaw is a recent favourite of mine. He gets late autumn light just perfect.

Rosedale Valley Road: nicest 2.5km you can run in this city. Best in autumn, spooky vibes going past the cemetery. Bonus for vampire episode of @badbooksbadppl.bsky.social in my ear holes. Another very pleasant day!

What a nice couple hours riding around the city, over the Valley seeing the foliage, to Spooky Booksale where I bought Saxe Rohmer's Golden Dawn silliness & a film crit mentioned in Johanna Hedva, then took myself for my favourite lunch.

Flashlight was great. Just the kind of multi-generational American saga I like. For enjoyers of Anne Patchett or Min Jin Lee.

Thinking about the Heavy Load Bearing Body today for some related reason. (Funnily enough I think the ground in Berlin and DC is pretty similar. Swampy.)

Oooh this is interesting. I had to run to my kitchen to see which I had and how lucky I may have been to not have it explode when I put it directly on the gas burner to melt butter (before I had a microwave). Turns out I have the good one.
