Hey Amy,

I highly recommend looking into Ground Score Association’s GLITTER program. A peer-led initiative to bring trash removal service to people on the streets without displacement. They also employee people with lived experience of homelessness! Hope this helps.

Hey Casey,
I can share at least one example - the program GLITTER is a peer-led trash removal service by people with lived experience of homelessness for people currently on the streets. That is a program that funds trash removal without displacement. Please advocate for GLITTER funding!

Thanks for sending in testimony!! Even just copy pasting that and sending to each councilor would magnify your action!

Thanks for clarifying! Mayor is asking BTS so that it looks like he has more support than this of us advocating against his plan. I’m hoping that we can rally more folks to share their thoughts so that it is a fairer representation.

Can you rephrase? Not sure what you’re asking. I’ll answer based on my first interpretation: this is being done via email, so emailing councilor offices should suffice. It’s regarding Mayor Wilson’s camping ban enforcement and mass shelter plan.

The housing bureau is supposed to focus on the long term solutions to provide stable affordable housing that the market isn't providing, not become a homeless navigation center. If the mayor wants to change that core mission, bring an ordinance to council.

If you questioned the parks levy this past month, look at where our public funds are going: undignified bandaid solutions that Mayor Wilson has to use the coercive threat of the carceral system to get people to use.

And people are still choosing the carceral system over the shelters!
