Nice!
Look what my mom made me 😭

It took almost a year and something like 200,000 stitches. And she made it 3D, with a spine and "pages."

I'm in such awe. One of the most special things I've ever been given.

I've read a little over 80 books this year. I think that deserves a sticker or a pizza party 💙📚

There are no better people than book readers.
I got so many books and so many gift cards to get more books.

The big book this year is
Ulysses by James Joyce - unabridged

Then I have some fun ones to follow.

Last year I read 38/25 books
This year the goal is 32 books

Readers are the best people.
Started writing my end of year annual reading recap. 58 books finished this year, over 16,000 pages worth. Mostly read on my Kindle with an utterly gargantuan font. Delighted to still be managing to read, albeit with ever increasing difficulty, as my neurological disease progresses further. #Booksky

Donald Trump has never shown an appreciation of the arts. During his first term, Trump never attended the Kennedy Center Honors. Now, even though it takes an act of Congress to change the name, he has put his name ahead of President Kennedy, who was a champion of the arts. It is funny, isn’t it?

Donald Trump and the GOP keep bragging about the " big beautiful bill” which cuts taxes for the already wealthy. The rich are doing just fine, and they don’t need more tax cuts. What is needed is affordable health care, an increased minimum wage and more jobs for the rest of the population.

Thousands of people have gathered at Stonehenge to celebrate the winter solstice. On Sunday, they cheered and danced as the sun rose over the prehistoric stone circle.

I hesitate to even post this on the kind of platform fueling the crisis we're in.

It's almost certainly futile, as the algorithms don't want anyone to hear this kind of sentiment - which is a big part of the problem.

never is right
24 years ago this morning, I was in a crowd fleeing the U.S. Capitol under police orders. In the chaos, I found a familiar face - my previous boss, Bernie Sanders. We found our way to a little Greek restaurant where we saw the disaster unfold on TV & knew things wouldn't ever be the same.
