The presidential memorandum never mentions Los Angeles or California. It’s a blank check for mobilizing National Guard and active duty troops to deploy anywhere to protect federal personnel or functions wherever protests “are occurring or are likely to occur.”

Is Kilmar Abrego Garcia alive? Because the amount of resistance to addressing his being trafficked gives the distinct impression that either he is dead or what they have done to him is so unspeakable that they cannot afford for him to be freed, seen, or spoken with.

So.

It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year.

I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

Who’s gonna tell him how expensive it is to park and own a car in any major city? Pretty sure the elite aren’t on the subway and if they are, good for them for using a sustainable mode of transportation.
in his statement "cancelling" congestion pricing, sean duffy calls people who ride the subway "an elite few" and i just feel as a communication professional that they gotta decide if they're going with that or crime-ridden drug den homeless shelter

To America’s 2.3 million federal employees:

Don’t accept a buyout.

Neither Musk nor even Trump has the legal authority to make such an offer.

And even if they did, would you trust them to follow through on it?

Let me emphasize: Elon Musk has not been confirmed by Congress. His “department” was never actually enacted. No one other than Trump has given him any authority.

Democrats and any Republicans with a spine need to step in and stop this madness.

The union win comes as Amazon, which owns the grocery chain, is also fighting labor organizing in its warehouse and delivery businesses.

Not sure what and how I’ll use this platform yet. Twitter used to be very transportation. While I still care deeply about public transit, I’ve added folks that talk about the Palestinian resistance and books #BookSky. Would love recs for Black pop culture, creative outlets, and community building!

One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.

I’m team free transit. But it’s also so nice to get on a train for a flat rate instead of distance based pricing. It’s an outdated model that assumes it’s just for high salary commuters instead of folks that have been pushed out of city limits.
