lil promo here, but I did the cover art for my dad's first book he just published 🎉 if you're a fan of classic epic fantasy, the ebook is on sale rn for 99¢!
An illustrated book cover in hues of blue, showing a figure approaching a floating, glowing power contained in several stone rings etched with runes. The title of the book is "Shifter" by Asher H Boyan.

*The AI boom = one of the costliest building sprees in world history

* Past 3 years' commitments are greater than the cost of building the U.S. interstate highway system

* Consumers must spend $800 billion on AI within a few years, to justify investment from 2023-24

www.wsj.com/tech/ai/ai-b...
This week, consultants at Bain & Co. estimated the wave of AI infrastructure spending will require $2 trillion in annual AI revenue by 2030. By comparison, that is more than the combined 2024 revenue of Amazon, Apple, Alphabet, Microsoft, Meta and Nvidia, and more than five times the size of the entire global subscription software market.

Morgan Stanley estimates that last year there was around $45 billion of revenue for AI products. The sector makes money from a combination of subscription fees for chatbots such as ChatGPT and money paid to use these companies’ data centers.

How the tech sector will cover the gap is “the trillion dollar question,” said Mark Moerdler, an analyst at Bernstein.

Waitress: “Read your bible.”
Me: how dare you tell me to read a bible! why is my glass empty??
Robert: babe please just open the book.
A simple black book titled “Holy Bible” in gold lettering, next to an empty lowball glass. The bible opened to a section that’s been cut out to fit a flask into it. The previously-empty glass filled with dark amber liquid from the flask, garnished simply with a dark cherry.

It’s cider donut season and the market up the road makes them fresh daily 🥹
A plate full of toasty-brown, sugar-coated apple cider donuts and a tan mug of black coffee beside it. Beauty close-up of sugary donuts

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑
Frustrated little dude gripping a pencil saying “how do I pack this down into something I can actually share?” While swirling rainbows labeled “INFINITE POTENTIAL” float around them.

Little dude frowns at a tiny grey box, exclaiming “all that work for THIS?!”

Little dude shoves the grey box into another little guy’s hands; Frowning, stomping off, and saying “Here you go, I made this, it sucks.”

Second little dude cracks open the box, swirling rainbows project out onto their face.

Second little dude stares in awe at all the swirling rainbows now floating around them.
