I'm a writer who is also a big fan of storytelling in all its forms. Bisexual lady who can't drive and finds chairs awkward so sorry about the stereotype.

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

Turns out that not only do Republicans not really believe in the Second Amendment or open carry when it’s their administration killing the people with guns but that they were right along that we need guns to guard ourselves against a tyrannical government - them!

We have been told for nearly 30 years that America needed to tolerate mass shootings because the broad availability of guns would help us defend ourselves from an overreaching federal government. That day has come. The people who said this are supporting the federal agents. Many have joined them.

On the year anniversary week of Trump in office for a second time, we seem to have literal death squads patrolling the streets of Democratic-run cities.

But sure it was all Trump Derangement Syndrome when some of us were warning about the impending fascism back in 2024. 🤷🏽‍♂️😡

I know we normalize everything this thoroughly abnormal man does but to reiterate: the president is SUING a newspaper over a poll result he doesn’t like and claims not to believe.

He is suing over a poll. Insanity. 25th Amendment territory. Again.
Trump says he's adding his bad poll numbers to his lawsuit against the Times. Deeply embarrassing stuff.

In addition to being false and malicious, this charge reminds me of the time a pro-Trump teen who wanted to be a cop saw a call for "patriots" on FB, crossed state lines with an illegally bought rifle, killed 2 protesters and wounded another, and was acquitted and celebrated as a hero by Republicans
Emmer: "The people you're seeing in these videos, the vast majority of them I do not believe are from Minnesota. These are organized chaos agents, paid agitators. The vast majority of Minnesotans that are talking to me appreciate that law enforcement has arrived, and they are happy they're there."

Jones: All you do is keep people fearful because you get paid 45 million a year to keep people fearful so they don’t pay attention to the CEOS taking their healthcare. You don’t care about the American people. You want them to be afraid of immigrants because all you have is fear.

How is Trump pardoning a republican rep's meth dealer son not a major story at every media outlet right now? Given the pearl clutching over the pardon of Hunter Biden, has the GOP and corporate media suddenly started caring about addiction? Or is there just a double standard? (Rhetorical)

Might want to rethink this one
CNN: Venezuela is a sovereign nation. Why is it okay for the US to go in, arrest its leader, control its oil, and take over for a time?

REP. CARLOS GIMENEZ: It's okay because that leader happened to be under indictment here in the US

Can't help but feel like this is one of the reasons why the Constitution says If a dude in office does an insurrection, don't let that motherfucker hold office again

Bc clearly they cannot be trusted with power & control over the levers of government, & they do not care about democratic constraints

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.
