At a certain point even the most ethical criminal lawyers are going to feel compelled to describe their clients' conviction as "an Obama-Biden type set up" as zealous advocacy and that's so corrosive that I'm not entirely sure we can recover from that.

Before Covid, I would often do hits on CNN. I would get called in to talk about something or other, and one time I was sitting in the Green Room with another guy, when a third guy walks in and is fondly greeted, leading to one of the most telling exchanges I've ever heard:

TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".
