The more I look at industrial decarbonisation, the more I come to the point of view that we have overstated the role of molecules in the past and underestimated the role of electrons in the future.

Agree with David completely. When I was a kid my brother and I thought we would start a business growing and selling something from our garden. We chose radishes. They grew well. But then, we had to try to sell radishes. I think our mom bought some out of pity.

Please wish her well for me!

I’m so sorry. It’s literally senseless and such a waste, what is happening now.

I’m hitting “like” but it is the opposite. I’m so sorry to hear this. Your work on energy access is critical to all of us.

NASA’s science programs are facing what experts are calling an “extinction-level event” under Trump’s proposed budget.
From climate monitoring to planetary research, entire fields of discovery are on the chopping block.

eos.org/research-and...
Bar chart titled “NASA Cut Proposals” set against a starry background. Four bars show proposed budget cut percentages for different NASA programs: 68% for Astrophysics, 43% for Heliophysics, 30% for Planetary Science, and 53% for Earth Science. The chart highlights significant funding reductions across scientific fields.

I’m pretty sure all the astronomers already heard this bad news, but idk how many other folks know about this proposal—NASA science would be absolutely GUTTED if this passed. US astronomy & astrophysics would be dead. We can’t let this happen—tell your reps, & your friends!

I’m so sorry. Talk about a waste—all that effort to not be able to finish and provide results.

For hundreds of years, humanity has relied on science to improve lives and build civilization. Science tests hypotheses, uses data, and follows a systematic method in pursuit of the truth. It’s not perfect of course. But destroying American science as we know it will only send us backward.

🙏 We need your help 🙏

The government continues to cancel grants at both NIH and NSF to censor science it doesn't like.

We're tracking terminations to organize and advocate. Please report your terminated grants:

And dismantling science throughout the federal government. It’s hard not to see this as an outright attack on knowledge. If we think science is expensive, we should see ignorance…

It's not just Columbia, it's not just DEI, and it's not just biomedical research: Trump's war on universities has frozen crucial science at institutions like Princeton, Cornell, Northwestern, and more. Our @nature.com team spoke to some of the affected scientists: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
How Trump’s attack on universities is putting research in peril
Scientists have little information as the US government freezes and cancels their funding.

This is a five-alarm fire - it cannot be overstated how important institutions like the USGS Western Ecological Research Center are to landscape and resource management in California. Wetlands, wildfires, endangered species, hunting game, species, climate change… their work covers the gamut.

Another big blow to US science and natural resource management. Wildlife coop research units date back to the 1930s. With roots back to the early 20th century, USGS has been the lead in long-term biodiversity monitoring and important citizen science programs.
