The problen is the fears of the working class are "theres too many damn brown people shopping at my good white gorcery store now" and theres no way to take that seriously without yourself being hideously racist
We need to stop two things:
1) we need to stop underestimating the right wing. They are a very real threat.
2) we need to stop patronising and dismissing very real fears raised by the working class. It's only through listening we will win people over.
Let's set an example of hope and unity.

At what point can the Democratic party admit it cant coexist with Republicans. Republicans are already open about not being able to coexist with us. I think we're past the point of negotiation
if you live around conservatives, a common bumper sticker reads “liberalism is a mental disorder.” you’ll see effigies of dem politicians, unhinged screeds about satan-worshipping dems written on lawn signs. this stuff gets ignored while any hint of condescension from liberals is treated as endemic
