Yes! Well worth reading before it all goes to hell.
Agree.
Favorite reads of 2025 number 3 is "The Last American Road Trip" by Sarah Kendzior. Tempted to call this my favorite book of the year. Full of grief, rage, wonder, and defiance. Sarah does not miss.

So yeah “separation of powers” is way different from “separate but equal”. One is a theory of governance. The other is government mandated racism.

Who knew.

Somehow though, I think this Friday uptick in both price and volume of Chevron stock must mean something.

Multiple members of Congress are calling for the impeachment of Donald Trump.

This is a disgrace.

It should at a minimum be *every single Democrat* and *at least* one or two Republicans.

Trump justified his illegal war in Venezuela by saying that Venezuela was not producing enough oil.

Venezuela was not producing enough oil because of sanctions and blockades Trump orchestrated.

The “Venezuela distracts from Epstein” line is ridiculous because 1) many awful things happen at once 2) Same Iran-Contra crowd pushing Venezuela invasion are or were involved with Epstein/Maxwell 3) Epstein associates (for ex, Dershowitz) want Iran invasion and see Venezuela as a test run for Iran

Happening now: several hundred people are pouring into Chicago's downtown Federal Plaza.

It's 25 degrees outside.

Organizers are leading the crowd in a chant of, "no boots on the ground, no bombs in the air!"

Two protesters hold a large banner reading, "no war for Venezuela oil."

Elliott Abrams specifically wants this, as does his network. It didn’t begin in Trump term two. Began with Iran-Contra and continued through multiple admins, including Bush and also Biden, who installed Abrams as an advisor in 2023. Same horrible people with same horrible plans for a half century.
Who specifically wants this? And why? It feels like more than just oil. I am not saying the reason is good or even rooted in reality, I just want know what it is. Is it just that some people have wanted this for a long time like they do with Iran?
