I went to a machine learning conference in Belgium in 2019 and left convinced tech didn't have the first idea what it was enabling. 6 years later that is still true.
I wrote one (1) story about Gamergate in 2016, was instantly targeted and threatened on social media, and was scared off from reporting anything further on online culture. Many media organizations have repeatedly failed to deal with bad faith attacks and are too often wholly unprepared for new ones.

The sidewalk shack newsstand at 31st & Halsted recently disappeared - I don't know if the proprietor retired or passed away. There are so very few of these old sidewalk newsstands left in Chicago now.
Besides the one at 31st & Halsted and the one at 58th & Indiana, where in Chicago are there other sidewalk shack newsstands still actively operating?
