Thanks for getting back to me unfortunately I can’t DM you so I’ll just have to have self confidence in my humanist values 😅 FYI you can push the screen up so you can see the ‘take the quiz’ but the screen snaps back as soon as you let go and once again can’t see the button.

‘Gruel! Round up round up, get your Conservative thin gruel… what’s that boy? You want MORE?! Take him away, lock him up… thrash him to an inch of his life…’

“Chris Philp, the shadow home secretary, [posts] to social media to say the Conservatives are “back””

As seen on guardian politics live, screen shot of

“Chris Philp, the shadow home secretary, has posted to social media to say the Conservatives are “back” in the wake of their policy announcements at this week’s conference.

He listed the following pledges:

Out of the ECHR
Deport all foreign criminals and illegal immigrants
Negative net migration
Climate Act repeal to reduce energy bills
Stamp duty gone
Abolish business rates for small shops and pubs
Benefits for British citizens only
Sickness benefits only for genuine cases
Police crime, not social media”

I’d love to do the quiz but the page won’t scroll up far enough for me to press the button “take the quiz” 😅 maybe your web people could have another look at its mobile phone comparability for smaller phones? I checked via your website too & that doesn’t work for me either.

Vintage Halloween card
BEWARE! THE TIME IS HERE IN WHICH THE WITCHES DO APPEAR.
A woman with blonde hair in a blue dress peers around a grandfather clock with ALL HALLOWEEN as the numbers on the clock and a pumpkin as the pendulum. Also a black cat leans around the other side of the clock with the shadow of a witch.

The reason the Right are so invested in the myth that the arts have no value isn’t because the arts don’t generate wealth (they do); it’s that studying the arts teaches people to imagine better ways of judging the value of an idea than by counting how much money it makes…

Please join me in raising funds for medical cargo buses and trucks with electric jamming for brigades of Ukraine's Khartiia Corps. These automobiles make the difference between whether people survive or not. We can do something very specific and meaningful to help.

Good point well made 👍😀 my quibble is now deffo that it’s not prioritised enough…😅🥹 I know there are a lot of “important & urgent” things in the “in tray”, but there are obvious signs UK food security & water sources (our poor water is in a very bad way tho I do appreciate the new reservoir plans!)

& me to question why UK hasn’t got food & drinking water as a key priority on all national security policy, w impact assessments against all policy decisions, & even a Ministry for Food using its predecessor in/post WW2 as a model. Maybe with a kinda Kate Bingham task force model in start up faze 🥹

Actually, the Right hate the present. And the future. And the past - if it's accurate. They only like a constructed notion of a past that never existed.

"15 years ago, Polish workers came here to find opportunity. Now Poland is growing twice as fast as we are," says Kemi Badenoch.

Any ideas what may have happened in the interim?

Miliband’s speech now reads as prescient at the analysis of long term issues & present day problems - & from now looking back, how spot-on he was w huge swathes, & in terms identifying possible solutions. It’s a real shame past geeky Ed had to go through the experience of failure to become Ed 2.0 🥹

Been to the youngest’s harvest assembly.
Theory: every primary school built pre about 1980 in Britain has some version of this equipment. It is referred to as something like ‘the apparatus’.
No one has any memory of it ever being used.

It’s that these things need to be said gets me. Cuts to FE education over 14 years of Tory rule really have a lot to answer for (in addition to social media tech-brogliarch algorithms, monetisation of misinformation & rise of passive consumption… but lack of critical analysis edu opps is up there) 😳

Viral social media posts claim Sir Keir Starmer has legalised marriage between brothers and sisters or parents and children.

False. Marriage between close relatives is illegal in the UK. There are, however, calls for a ban on marriage between first cousins. fullfact.org/culture-and-...
No, the government hasn’t legalised marriage between brothers and sisters and parents and children – Full Fact
False claims about changes in the law have been linked to a parliamentary exchange about marriages between first cousins.

Takes some doing, but I think Kemi Badenoch has found the policies to tank the economy even quicker than Liz Truss if given the chance.

Fantasy tax and spending cuts plus trade chaos with neighbours from leaving the ECHR. Great stuff!

Good to see the Conservative Party committed to keeping the deficit down by *checks notes* spending £2 billion giving tax breaks for private education, creating a massive new deportation force and pledging to maintain pensioner benefits.
