she/her/hers. Always cold, frequently hangry, seldom clever, never fun. Opinions half-baked and own. Trying in every sense.

Home Alone (1990) watches like a absolute horror movie when you are middle-aged.

As soon as Joe Pesci slips off those front stairs, my back screams.

Trump just brazenly lied about healthcare. This corporate tool has done everything for the benefit of insurance executives and nothing for the wellbeing of Americans who need health care.

Now, he's blaming his political opponents of the premium spikes his policies are causing.

Holiday grief is catching up with me, but my sweet bestie is making sure I don’t spend a single second at home feeling alone. (Her soft whiffly purr is a lovely comfort.) Wishing peace and gentleness to everyone carrying the heavy burdens, seen and unseen. 💛

When *everyone* annoys me? I take a time out cause it's probably me.

It could all be that simple.

If you are privileged enough to join a union, please participate. Attend meetings and trainings. Offer input. Join the negotiation team. Run for office. Lead together.

Yes, it is extra effort and it’s not always convenient, but unions only function when the people in them show up and work!
Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

I miss the garden in full bloom. I miss the bees buzzing and butterflies flitting about. I miss hammock snoozes. I am trying to make peace with this morning’s -12°F/-24.444°C air temp.

Between work stress, seasonal depression, grief, and, well… [gestures to pretty much everything] I am struggling to do anything but cuddle Min.

And re-listen to fave podcasts because I can’t be left alone with my internal monologue as she is very mean.

Oof. Be gentle with yourselves, friends.

We’re not doing alright with this Christmas of white.

Sir, you blew, blew, blew Christmas.
Folks you may have been baffled by the “Kevin Costner presents the first Christmas” ad you just saw on ABC

And I am here to make it worse by sharing with you the official poster for this blessed event

Sweet baby cheeses, I hope this is a marvelously terrible harbinger of an upcoming multi-part IBCK banger. 🥹 (I need something to hope for in 2026.)
Truly sorry to keep posting these but I cannot believe this book is real.

The only best choice for seasonal music on my speakers. The bittersweetness, the earnestness, the melancholy and nostalgia — it’s a comforting catharsis for someone like me with a complicated relationship to this time of year.

We have a “poverty trap” and it’s driving the destruction of social cohesion.

The “poverty line” is’t 35,000, it’s $150,000, and making more than one, and less than the other is worse than being “poor”.

Which is why the rage.

In the second week of this cold-and-cough. We’re taking it easy today, and my care team (comprised of Zelda and Minne) has advised me to rest as much as possible.

Also, I skimmed the news, and I just cannot with reality today. We all deserve better. Be well, friends. 💛
