It's very amusing to hear Gary Neville blame White Middle Aged Racists for hanging flags.

Then Jeremy Kyle, Nigel Farage, Lee Anderson and Joey Barton act all offended.

Yes he was talking about you.

We'd be interested in talking about forming a consortium to fundraise for this, and to contribute our progress so far on ebook sales. I wrote about the dangers recently here:

Fave short fiction read this week was The Water Dragons of Harney County by @bmorrisallen.com in Trollbreath. Whimsical, both modern and folkloric, and incredibly compelling

Also: I think SF&F publishers should extend their newfound enthusiasm for the novella and re-embrace the short novel, specifically the 50-65k words/ 180-220 pages range.

And then I think works that are 40-50k should be marketed as either a novella or a novel based on what they are.

So this is my first time going wide with a preorder. And ending the first day with a total of 9 preorders (3 Amazon, 3 Ko-Fi, 2 Itch, 1 Kobo) was a pleasant surprise. And most paperback links aren't up yet.

Any chance anyone would be willing to make it an even 10?

When we consider the massive amount of potential reading material out there, it's no surprise speed reading gets a lot of traction.

But as an article by Anne-Laure Le Cunff over at Ness Labs explains: "It's completely bogus."
The case for slow reading
A promise of being able to speed read over 1,000 words a minute while retaining full comprehension swings around every so often. But let's take our time.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

I massively resent that I question whether so much of what I watch is real or not.

But I also fear the people who continue to believe everything they watch.

While I'm banging this drum, are we discussing the fact that everyone's likeness can be co-opted and used to create a video of you doing and saying pretty much anything and there is fuck all you can do about it?

It is SO fucking dangerous
