Great story in this issue @nature.com. Shows that the regulatory region controlling digit devt in vertebrates was not copy-pasted directly from fin development. So, the "fin-to-limb transition" in vertebrate evolution isn't as clear cut as originally thought.🧪👏👇 (lovely summary btw).

A great skeetorial on a new and much improved method for mapping transcription factor landscapes, with a beautiful image by our own Gloria Fuentes @gloglita.bsky.social from Life Science Editors @lifescienceeditors.bsky.social

🧪Move over CUT&Tag, there’s a new #TranscriptionFactor mapping method in town.
Our newly developed DynaTag is faster, cleaner, more sensitive than #ChIPseq, #CUT&RUN and #CUT&Tag.

We, @lifescienceeditors.bsky.social, are exploring ways to use LLMs in our work (always with transparency and consent, of course) and are curious about whether and how you use them. Here's me giving a "workshop" to our team, wherein everyone has to listen to me ramble on.
A screenshot of a PowerPoint slide titled 'What is ChatGPT?' with a list describing ChatGPT as an AI-powered language model developed by OpenAI. It highlights its ability to generate human-like text and assist with writing, summarizing, brainstorming, and content generation. A bullet-point list shows various use cases such as creating marketing campaigns, writing press releases, and summarizing articles. A small video window in the top right corner shows a woman, labeled 'Angela Andersen,' speaking, indicating a virtual presentation.

One of our hugely experienced editors and writers, @sfmatheson.bsky.social, former EIC of Cell Reports, has been writing #Snippets to summarise an interesting new paper as well as to highlight good scientific writing.

I'm an extrovert, and I can be a bit too loud, and yet either in spite of that or because of it... I love to write and to read. So I've been doing these Snippets at Life Science Editors (@lifescienceeditors.bsky.social), shooting for 1-2 a week, where we enthuse about a recent paper.

Really important points - we're also seeing manuscripts of trials that don't meet publishing standards. Nature Medicine leading the way with clarity and support 👏

We loved it. Both the science and the way it was communicated. And we also wrote about it. Well, the former EIC of Cell Reports, @sfmatheson.bsky.social, who is now one of our wonderful editors, did.👇
