Senior officers of the United States military have an obligation to speak up and be leaders. Where is the Army chief of staff? Will he or others speak truth to the commander in chief and put a stop to the assault on the integrity of his troops? www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
The Silence of the Generals
As President Donald Trump crossed a dangerous line at Fort Bragg, the Army’s brass failed to speak out in its defense.

Thank you General. Where is our Governor? Bridges falling down, trees mistakenly clear cut, pallet homes for the homeless taking over a year to be occupied.
The stakes are too high for prevarication and weakness.

Update: @reed.senate.gov says he is a "hard no" on cloture for the GOP resolution to fund the government (aka, will join a filibuster of the bill)

At today's briefing, WH Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who has banned the AP from covering Presidential events, was bragging about the success of Trump's anti-immigration efforts by citing a report from... the AP.

She then went on to brag about a Judge refusing to block her banning of the AP.

That is a very good question !
Sen Reed, why?
If I were a Democrat, and I saw Trump do a purge of high-level generals who were women and people of color and wouldn't be "yes men," I wouldn't vote to advance JD Vance's college friend for Secretary of the Army.

And yet....16 Democrats just did so

Beyond Pete Hegseth lacking the experience to lead the Department of Defense, many of Trump’s nominees for deputies and undersecretaries are also unqualified. During crises, few will have the knowledge to offer steadier guidance:
