Being LGBTQI+ isn't a disease & it's  not something that a therapist should be trying to “fix.” Conversion therapy is opposed by every major medical association in the U.S., & today I’m calling on #SCOTUS to protect young people & uphold states' bans on these cruel, disproven practices for minors.

Donald Trump signed the Government Employee Fair Treatment Act in 2019. The law is clear: furloughed workers are to receive backpay at the conclusion of a government shutdown.

Our federal workers provide invaluable services to the American people despite the Administration's contempt for them.

House Republicans need to return to Washington to negotiate a way out of this Republican-caused health care crisis and reopen the federal government. Case closed.

Let me be clear: It’s ILLEGAL to deny federal workers back pay after a shutdown.

There’s a 2019 law that guarantees it, but Trump is once again trying to break the law.

You don’t get to punish people for doing their jobs just because you’re failing at yours.

I'm in D.C., ready to negotiate in good faith for the #FightingFifth and the American people—to end the #RepublicanShutdown and secure affordable healthcare.

It has now been 18 days since Mike Johnson called for votes in the House, and my House Republican colleagues are nowhere in sight.

The GOP won't swear-in Adelita Grijalva, leaving AZ-07 without a federal representative during a government shutdown.

She will also be the 218th and final signature to force a vote to release the Epstein files—I'm sure that's just a coincidence, right?

The Trump administration’s decision to freeze nearly $18 billion in NYC infrastructure funding already approved by Congress isn’t about saving money, it’s political payback. These projects mean good paying jobs for New Yorkers and Trump is standing in the way. youtu.be/WTaJ5kWRsL8

Democrats get criticized for even talking about threats to our democracy in the abstract, much less specific examples.

Let what’s happening now be a lesson that the modern Republican Party is full in on authoritarianism.

“First Mr. Trump imposes tariffs that he says only hurt foreigners. But when that turns out not to be true, he takes political credit for payments to offset the damage as if he’s somehow protecting the American farmer.

How about not hurting them in the first place?”

AND I have a bill to ensure federal contractors get it as well.

The law is unequivocal: All furloughed and essential federal workers must receive back pay in the event of a government shutdown.

It is a sick thing for Republicans to shut down the government and then stiff the people who work hard for the American people.

If Congressional Republicans don’t act now to extend Affordable Care Act enhanced premium tax credits, millions will see their health care costs skyrocket.

With open enrollment starting November 1st, I shared with @wusa9.com.web.brid.gy why the time to act is now.

The Republican healthcare crisis is making things worse.

I never thought I’d say this, but Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is right. We can’t allow premiums for millions of Americans to double overnight.

Washington Republicans should work with us to fund health care and end this shutdown now.

Our dedicated federal workers should NOT be used as political pawns!

Let’s be clear: it’s against the law to deny federal workers back pay after a shutdown.

Trump should know- he signed the law after he last shut down the federal government.
Screenshot from Washington Post article. Text reads: Administration officials hope the memo will maximize Republicans’ leverage in shutdown negotiations with Democrats, according to two people familiar with internal talks, both speaking on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly. Trump and Vice President JD Vance have threatened imminent mass layoffs of federal employees — from arms of the federal government that Trump called “Democrat agencies” — but have yet to carry out the firings.

First, Republicans shut the government down to undermine the ACA

Now, they’re threatening to withhold the backpay that federal workers need to keep food on the table

Stop threatening your own citizens and negotiate a bipartisan spending bill that reopens the government and lowers healthcare costs!

Scoop: White House memo says furloughed federal workers aren't entitled to backpay
A move to deny backpay to up to 750,000 furloughed workers would dramatically escalate Trump's pressure on Democrats to end the shutdown.

Americans across the country enrolled in an ACA plan are already being notified that their monthly premiums will skyrocket beginning next year.

If this has happened to you, please comment what you or your family’s current premium is and what it will rise to next year.
