A recent Greenpeace Brazil investigation links JBS, the world’s largest meat producer, to cattle raised illegally on protected Indigenous land in the Amazon.

Yet EU leaders are pushing the #EUMercosur deal that would boost such exports.

At #COP30 they must choose forests over profit.

Until the EU Deforestation law is implemented, the EU has no means to stop meat linked to the violation of Indigenous rights from being sold in the EU.😫 And the EU-Mercosur trade deal will boost precisely this kind of risky trade! ☠️

The final EU-Mercosur deal does nothing to stop free-trade from harming neither small-scale farmers nor Indigenous Peoples threatened by the expansion of agribusiness.

The splitting manoeuvre is an undemocratic hijacking of the long-standing opposition of several EU member states and parliaments.
