This seems like a non-story. If you're dead set on playing System Shock 2 (1999) you still have a variety of ways to do that. One of which being bundled with a very thoughtful remaster by Nightdive. Being on Steam as it's own listing that you ALSO technically don't own doesn't mean that much to me.
