@govpritzker.illinois.gov's take on Kirk is the correct one:

"Political violence, unfortunately, has ramped up in this country ... I think there are people who are fomenting it in this country. I think the president's rhetoric often foments it."

On point. So glad Democrats are saying this.

I’m generally a live and let live person, but I think you should either have a very complicated order that holds up the line at Panda Express or have a phone conversation with somebody about something completely different but not both at the same time. Thank you.

I'm rewatching The Wire. A character in the episode I'm watching says, "A lie ain't a side of the story. It's just a lie." For some reason, that speaks to me these days (as do a million other lines from the show.)

Ted Lasso Season 4 should have him return to coaching football. But this time it should be Texas High School football. And, his star QB gets brutally injured in the opening sequence.

Just make it a shot-for-shot remake of Friday Night Lights, but with Ted Lasso instead of Coach Taylor.

Thoughts on boycotts: inflict pain on the corporation. Buying a couple 99 cent ebooks from a self-published author on Amazon is fine. Don’t buy a microwave on it. Purity is never the answer. Restraint though and thoughtfulness is.

Doctors and nurses who love the show “The Pitt” remember the moment they realized it wasn’t like other medical shows. The unusually accurate medical drama, streaming on Max, has become the talk of real-life hospital breakrooms.

Beautiful and extraordinarily helpful thread
Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.
