I want a government that doesn’t sound like a deeply damaged, bratty boy when it communicates with citizens exercising their First Amendment rights.

When I just saw this, I knew it would be a Jonathan Martin piece. And yep. Martin simply doesn’t see Black voters & never has. Post-Dukakis, every Democratic nominee has been the candidate w/ the strongest support from Black voters. I don’t see Newsom getting that.
Maybe Newsom ends up as the nominee but it's way way way too early to declare a frontrunner. At this point in 2005, Barack Obama wasn't even included in most opinion polls. Clinton was competing against Joe Biden, John Kerry, Al Gore and John Edwards. Mark Warner was the buzzy underdog.
Admit It. Gavin Newsom Is the 2028 Front-runner.
For years, Democrats and pundits have rolled their eyes at Gavin Newsom. But he’s positioned better than anyone else for the future of politics.

It's ONLY been 65 years since six year old Ruby Bridges walked through the halls of William Frantz Elementary as the first Black child to attend an all white school. Met with mobs and hate, her bravery and courage helped change the course of history for this nation.

Aid agencies 'nowhere close' to meeting needs for displaced Sudanese, IOM chief says
The funding gap for aid agencies is accentuating Sudan's crisis, leaving them unable to help many of the tens of thousands of people fleeing from the Darfur city of al-Fashir and other areas, U.N. migration chief Amy Pope said.

#BanjoAunti here with “Poor Rosy”

What I love about this tune is that the shifting major to minor key illustrates the multi-layered nature of these people’s lives back in the time of enslavement.

Best case: The President of the United States knew about a pedophilia ring and did nothing to stop it.

Medium case: He also used his office to protect the perpetrators.

Worst case: Because he was one of the perpetrators.

For the Americans arrogant enough to believe they can “do their own research” and challenge trained virologists and immunologists on vaccines, handling this will be a piece of cake.
The key here is @they’re gonna feel like entrepreneurs.”

Trump knows that this is always a pathway for support from a certain segment of Americans - mostly men. The desire to “invest” and be an “entrepreneur.” Even without expertise, capital, or the resilience to endure failure.
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

It's so much easier to blame everyone else but yourself for breaking bread with folks want to punish everyone who isn't like them. If you're silent, you're complicit. Remember that.
