So, an interesting little uprising is taking place in a smallish community on discord. The "Geogussr" community server on Discord is upset with the developers of the game for planning their next event in Saudi Arabia, and are cancelling their subscriptions en masse.

Fellow Canadians, and others; what have you managed to do to fight the Trump Tarrifs? I ended Amazon, Netflix, Disney subscriptions, stopped shopping Walmart 100%, reduced American goods from groceries (work in progress), letting Costco membership die off next month. How has everyone else made out?

So. The next most obvious and yet most controversial topic, do we Canadians boycott American social media? I gave up Facebook 2 years ago, Twitter 1 year ago, Reddit a month ago, and now only have Bluesky... anyone know if any of those old freenet message boards are still around?

Somehow I have ended up being that old guy in a video game telling the young people who are yelling racist and sexist slurs why what they say is wrong. Holdfast and Rust keep me busy with that.

My christmas plans: play video games I enjoyed in the 80s to rekindle my youth. Drink alcohol in excess to rekindle my youth. Achieve a level of tiredness and hangover that makes me curl up in fetal position, to rekindle my fetal state.

Atlantic Canadians are most reluctant to idea of Canada becoming part of the United States, with 90% against. The fact that 90% of Atlantic Canadians agreed on anything is genuinely astounding, so I'd say we are ready to fight together on this one, right and left.

Watched an elderly man in Walmart asking an employee a bunch of questions off a sheet of paper (probably from the internet) about a dehumidifier. The employee made no secret they had no idea what he was asking, and just kept trying to read the side of the box for clues.

So, it's that season when we all realize how hard it is to see at night in bad weather with the newer road paints being used around North America.
It's low VOC paint, which reduces smog (yes, paint off gassing is a large producer of urban smog), and needs glass beads for additional reflectiveness
