In spite of all the hate in the world, you are loved.
A graphic , showing a rainbow over a koala bear on a branch, with text:
I LOVE YOU
You are probably thinking, you do not even know me?
but if people can hate for not reason, I can love

NOW & THEN

The #Musquodoboit River / Pond. (via Janet Brittain)
The same is true all down the Eastern Shore of #Halifax.

The West River in Sheet Harbour has ponds left behind.

Into Fall with drought conditions still.
Preserve your water!

A side by side comparison. On the left, rocks and some pond water, on the right, a raging rapid and strong flow of water. It's the same river, in the past, compared to 2025 drought conditions

I'm starting to dress like I did in the Navy.

#GoodMorning #Bonjour

I have lots of former Navy work dress.
I also have a collection of *dead people* clothes.
Today I'm thinking of Dave Hall, who said "Keep them" (uniforms) as he retired, then lived just another month..
His work clothes live on!
A turquoise-blue work shirt, with button down breast pockets. This shows the right side, and above the unbuttoned flap of the right breast pocket is the sewn on cloth name tag "HALL"

the apple I was seeking, hasn't been available since the 60s, and was called the KINGS variety, a softball size crunchy tart apple that was almost enough for one pie, it was so big. I've never been able to find it again, so I tried to grow one like it. I'm very close

I grow from seed. For the grafting ability, I have purchased 6 varieties of trees over the years. The rest grew from seed and produce excellent apples, one tastes like the PINK LADY, but I started this as a hobby when I found out we discontinued 136-139 varieties JUST IN NOVA SCOTIA, in my lifetime

I'm sure it's the climate they grow in. Look up how long and how apples are shipped before they reach stores. They are just fresher in Vermont (and Nova Scotia)

🎶 Return of the Mc...intosh. 🌱
Box of #Apples from the McIntosh tree. We lost a lot of Drop Apples, due to the drought. That's nine apple trees picked, so far. There's not a bucket on each of the other producing trees, maybe I'll just taste them first and add them to a common bucket. #Pie

I have new wild apples from seed. Three separate trees had bigger apples than the Macs and a tasty variety.
I only have 6 name brand apple trees out of 100s grown from seed.

Stupid Speaker of the House leader, who is too stupid to know he's dumb as a post.
Also a faithful supporter of keeping the #Epstein files from ever being seen by the #MAGA who voted to see them.

Buy Guitars, not Guns!

#Guns #GIfts #Guitars
Dear Dads,
Don't buy him a weapon. Buy him a guitar. He won't hurt anybody with it, and he might actually get a girlfriend

No, no.. only starter trees, seeds and cuttings come inside. The peach tree was planted in 2008, when it had fruit, I had a bag of seeds and grew more. Where it is sunny and warm, the same trees produce fruit the next year

Going deep in the travel archives for this #ThickTrunkTuesday. 🌱
An ancient tree with a bent trunk and wide short fully exposed root system hanging precarious above an ocean-eroded cave and a similarly horizontal flattened evergreen shape above. Framed on either side by smooth orange and red stone.

Here stands a trio of Black-bellied Whistling Ducks (Dendrocygna autumnalis), ...

"Three Black-bellied Whistling Ducks stand in quiet formation at the lip of a still body of water, their bodies angled slightly leftward as if mid-conversation or poised for a gentle procession. Each duck wears a striking ensemble: a deep chestnut body, black belly, and a crisp white wing patch that catches the morning light. Their bills blaze red like ceremonial seals, and their legs—long and pink—seem dipped in rosewater.

The water beneath them is glasslike, mirroring their forms with uncanny clarity. Reflections ripple only slightly, as if the pond itself is holding its breath. Around them, green vegetation frames the scene—lush, unruly, and alive. The lighting is soft but deliberate, casting a warm glow that accentuates the texture of their feathers and the quiet dignity of their stance.

Together, they evoke a sense of ritual: not just ducks at rest, but sentinels of a sovereign moment—perhaps convening a council at the Ministry of Mirror Lake" - Microsoft Copilot
