Since we live in a society where anything can be bought for the right price, we live in a society in which every conceivable aspect of life is not just open to but rife with profound, unrepentant corruption.

It seems hard if not impossible to separate the two.

Old edition: used books are on the market to reduce new book revenues for the publishers.

That’s literally why they’ve always done new textbooks, with exceptions for a very few fields where things actually change and need updating (high level/cutting edge science or recent history for example).

One of the drs being sued for injuring a patient “began consulting for Acclarent in 2014 & received more than $550,000 in consultant’s fees through 2024 according to a federal database that tracks financial ties btw companies & physicians. At least $135,000 of those fees related to the TruDi system”
