Elon Musk’s reputation as a generational genius can *entirely* be attributed to years of really clever marketing, and it is utterly shameful that so many supposedly smart people in positions of power fell for the scam.
“Elon Musk is granted a incredibly dangerous amount of power over US government affairs” is a direct result of the last 15 years of American culture’s brain-dead worship of arrogant techbros in STEM.
Profoundly embarrassing that the US government let Elon Musk, a obvious deranged fool, gain so much power.
Our culture’s willingness to kiss the feet of rich white boy tech “geniuses” - without demanding actual evidence of their “genius” - is incredibly dangerous.

I can’t believe a 5.1 magnitude earthquake (hasn’t happened in Ventura County since 1932) just hit in the middle of Tropical Storm Hilary also hitting, and there hasn’t been a tropical storm here since 1939
