google a couple big orgs you feel drawn to and see if they have chapters near you - Indivisible is a great place to start. google what immigration orgs are in your area - they are likely to have real needs that can be a first step. or volunteer at a local school and you'll quickly find active people

I recommend talking to people in your area ideally that you know IRL who are active in something and see what events they have coming up - just having one personal connection can make the first step feel less like a chore & you don't have to choose the issue, you're just choosing to do one thing. .

but there is also risk to responding to hype esp. when the hype is primarily being used to discipline a workforce. curious what exactly you think the left should *do* with this possibility besides panic or do a reverse clinton and tell everyone to retrain for factories

I mean, it was silly - wear a blue post it! - but could have been much worse - if you didn't know context of last few years, would just seem like goofy psa that somehow wandered into super bowl. imagine what good for real communities could be done with that $$ tho

it's a familiar enough thing that "think globally, act locally" used to be a cliche or organizing! but one can't expect "God" to know things, apparently

true nationally re "inside game" but not locally. also, "inside game" is not the thing that gets coded as small or reform or liberal. is helping a family come up with a plan if they're kidnapped unacceptably reformist? working with your city council to raise money for local impacted families? etc

"Jewish, democratic state" to a lot of people means democratic but with Jewish culture very present, Hebrew and holidays etc. I think these young people correctly understand "Zionism" as it's come to be means you believe Jews should have more rights than others
