That guy has been helping to elect Republicans for years now. His “bothsides” nonsense is designed to push voters into staying home or useless third parties.

Him and his ilk portray themselves as morally superior but they are just more fascist enablers.

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

Why would anyone who wasn’t an asset of the Russian government do this?

Why would any decent human being do this?

The way to understand the hysteria over "woke" is through the lens of Ignazio Silone's famous description of fascism as "a counter-revolution against a revolution that never took place." Reactionary forces always begin by conjuring a looming leftist threat.

It’s a mistake to ask this question because it assumes Trump’s rationality.

He wants to do this because it makes him feel powerful. He doesn’t care if the effects are good or bad. Indeed, the more destruction he causes, or the more people fear destruction he may cause, the more powerful he feels.
A question I've been debating with economist friends is what Trump is trying to accomplish with his tariffs. I mean, he can't be demanding that Canada and Mexico — with whom we have a free trade agreement! — open their markets. Now he says it's about immigration and drugs 2/
