My fun bit of trivia Eminem related was that he held the high score on a DK cabinet, I think it was at one of his studios, and someone beat his high score, and he noticed during the credit roll on the idle screen he looked over, stopped during recording a song, and crushed out another record.

I've actually been thinking about extending my reach and looking outside of the states too. Those are more commonly remote from what I have seen, but I just didn't ever try cause I figured why would they want to take the risk?

Ohhh! I was just learning about something akin to this from one of the tutorials I follow (how it was recommended for larger scope assets, to approach it with a painting workflow instead of traditional pixel). Definitely gonna give this a look. Thanks!

Haha, it's sort of cookie based. A bit more going on with it. It's basically an inside joke my wife and I had about one of our dogs. I will happily tell you more as it develops!

I feel so bad for you and the fellow writers! Someone I follow was telling me that she had to deal with some absolutely ludicrous asks from the interviewers (where the expectation was for her to have engine familiarity) and I can't even. Ugh!

out how I can feasibly create something that shows off a variety of skills, but can formulate into a game. Came up with the idea of a sort of "rhythm/cozy" game and that is going to be the path in the meantime.
Much more doable, very easy, just a lot of...building. lol.

I think I might have showed you already, but I have been making those pixel cookie assets partly from practicing sprite work, but also because...you guessed it, that's what the small game idea revolves around.

Oh yeah no doubt. When it comes to drafting GDDs, that comes naturally (Thank god), and I am at least blessed with familiarity with an engine, and it's one of the big ones (UE). So I have all that going. I have made prototype of quest chains working, BT's firing (the trees, not the kojima monsters).

That said, the shit is haaaard to do when you don't come from any background in any of the creative arts I am finding. I am making it work. It's rough. It WILL pan out. But god damn I could go for a break.

Yeah, 100%. It helps I have a lot of interests, but I don't think there is as golden of a move then being able to say "while I may have graduated and never formally entered the industry, I 'did' make my own game. Here, you can play it".

Until then, I am blessed with a pretty great life, despite the worries. After a game or two, if it's still looking bad, I will find something (anything) and ride it out that way. But being without work in a sort of way is a gift...? Cause I have the time to focus towards my own projects lol.
