And here’s an Omni jet landing in Equatorial Guinea yesterday. This is very likely a third-country removal to a torture prison, the second in a week and the third there overall.

Maybe he will, maybe he won't. Has anyone heard where PM Luxon is attending Waitangi day? It was clear last year that it would be Ōnuku, as the AOS had been sniffing about for months, but even now there's no official word I've heard as to where. Even Google is none the wiser...

A number of people from out-of-state have been opening tabs at small businesses—coffee shops where people on patrol can grab a drink and warm up, bars where people can be in community, etc. It’s been a deeply appreciated form of solidarity and helps the businesses closing tomorrow.
how (if at all) can we support the minnesota general strike on friday from afar?

Sounds like Prime Minister Luxon is off to visit the flood affected areas today, carrying the blessings of the Ratana Church, where he would of otherwise been.

In case you missed yesterdays Aurora, apparently only the tilt of earths magnetic field prevented most of our electronics getting burnt out, globally. Would have been interesting. Last time that happened was 1859, during the Carrington event. Wikipedia link below

Oh, today is the day oracle takes over tiktok. Lucky they had a backup plan, just in case that rather large solar flare yesterday didn't break the internet's. Apparently the earths tilt was the only thing stopping another 'carrington' event. Worth googling if you don't know it

If you've not heard @graceblakeley.substack.com yet, well, here she is talking about why the right is winning the culture wars and why the left needs to recognize and adjust to this reality - quickly. Highly relevant in New Zealand, as elections don't go win themselves

Wondering if chippy can shed any light on Luxons #WaitangiDay plans. Surely he'd know? Unless the dumpster fire overseas that was 2025 has suddenly become a global crisis meaning they both need to claim they are working from home? It kinda feels like they are both MIA or AWOL

I'm just wondering if anyone knows where the Prime Minister of New Zealand will be attending the commemorations this Waitangi day,? The internet's seem not to know, and so for as I've heard the AOS hasn't scoped out Onuku like they had already by this time last year. #nzpol
