Autumn and the Relics Of A Dead Summer

I hate the phrase "AI is here to stay" and not just because everybody always says it the exact same way as if they were already replaced by a bot. Just the fact that there are finite resources on earth means that it has to go away. And I want it to go without taking the rest of us with it.

Jason Blum's take on AI sucks. an AI takeover isn't inevitable, and treating it as such (while also referring to filmmaking as "content creation," smdh) helps AI companies promote the lie that their deeply unprofitable, destructive tech is more powerful and useful than it actually is.

New: Apple banned an app that simply archived videos of ICE abuses. Rather than other apps that record ICE official's real-time location, Eyes Up is to "preserve evidence until it can be used in court." Videos from TikTok etc. Every submission manually reviewed
