Trump's takeover of the U.S. capital’s police force is a distraction from his own rampant wrongdoing.

Take his crypto scams, which prompted Harvard political scientist Steven Levitsky to tell The Guardian, “I have never seen such open corruption in any modern government anywhere.”

‘Time to take America back’: Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry’s launches campaign for lower military spending
The 80th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki has reignited the debate around nuclear weaponization and the cost of war. Ben and Jerry’s Co-founder, Ben Cohen has launched the “Up in Arms” campaign to bring attention to military spending and the dangers of nuclear proliferation. He argues that cutting social safety net programs in lieu of military funding “is economic violence.” The U.S. outspends most countries in military defense, “the U.S. leads and drives the arms race and those other countries are trying to catch up to us,” says Cohen. "That's not deterrence - that's delusion.”

So many appalling things are happening.
The DOJ hired a J6 rioter who called for the killing of cops.
The defense secretary boosted the crackpot idea of denying the vote to women.
They want to wear us down. Don’t let them. Don’t accept this as normal.
Hold tight to your values — and your outrage.

Trump’s move to mobilize the National Guard against Americans in DC is another telltale sign of his authoritarian ambitions. But at some point signs of authoritarianism stop being signs and become symptoms of an autocratic regime. We’re far past that point now. www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/t...
Trump considering deploying up to 1,000 National Guard to D.C.
The number of Guard who would be assigned is still in flux, the officials say, and most of the troops would likely be pulled from the D.C. National Guard.

Damn straight. Most people are three months away from being homeless. Check your bank accounts. Could you survive more than three months without a paycheck? Or a major medical emergency that insurance doesn’t cover?

The United States created this through their ridiculous “trickle down economics“.

Homelessness is a policy failure, not a personal one.

Trump is cutting #FEMA jobs and floating plans to dismantle the agency.

That could leave states unprepared, even as weather disasters grow more frequent and costly. The head of the Hazards Vulnerability & Resilience Institute explains just why this is a bad idea: buff.ly/AkF5ABa 🌎#climatesky
History shows why FEMA is essential in disasters, and how losing independent agency status hurt its ability to function
States used to be on their own when a disaster hit. Then the Great Mississippi River Flood of 1927 and the Dust Bowl showed why federal coordination was essential.
