The dual state is characterized by the facade of normalcy obscuring the fact of an authoritarian state.

The “dual state” theory was invented to describe Nazis. The Supreme Court could take us there.

Authoritarianism—but make it look like the rule of law.

Today, Freya experienced a sudden medical crisis. I found her lying limp and barely responsive. When we got her to the vet, her pulse, BP, and blood sugar were all dangerously low. Vet said if we'd waited an hour, she might not have survived.

This year marks 10 years of Harrow County! One of the best things I ever worked on and I'm super proud of what @cullenbunn.bsky.social and I were able to accomplish with this series along with the help of @danielchabon.bsky.social and dozens of other artists contributing along the way!

In all seriousness, publishers are going to have to figure out how to market books in the post-social-media landscape. That should be an implicit part of their job. What authors/artists can do on their own is increasingly limited and siloed.
