Absolutely this, especially #4. Creating Lords and Ladies infantilises our society.
A good question. I favour its complete reform, but at least to make it function as part of a democracy we need:
1. Term limits (I suggest 5 years, renewable once)
2. Members appointed by independent body, not PM
3. Cap on total number of members
4. Stop giving them silly titles, it’s embarrassing
