Doesn't have even the minimal decency of letting us see him get called a ballbag several thousand times.

The whiny tone of Gaiman's own post gives the definite impression of a man who'll be chummed up with Linehan and his ilk in weeks, if not days.

It's just a guy saying he's the only logical and sensible person who's looked into the allegations, but all he does is call them "smears", sneer at the testimony of multiple women, and note his credentials are writing articles for The Canary, which would be laughable if this wasn't all so grim.

In case you've ever wondered, this is what a cat looks like when it's just sat on the printer's power switch & is wondering why there are now flashing lights and noises up its bum.

I shouldn't have used "foolish", I actually admire the system a lot, particularly as it was created basically from scratch. But I do think the more parliamentary systems that came after are better systems, improving the American model. My own opinion completely, of course.

Remember, in QE2's latter days, when the papers revealed that she had vetoed hundreds of proposed laws over decades, that could potentially help the public to discover how rich the royal family actually was?

It was significant for maybe 48 hours and then got memory-holed.

That's the beauty of the Irish system, a parliamentary Prime Minister that's as removable as under the British system and a presidency that doesn't have the sweeping powers the Americans foolishly give theirs. I'm a great admirer of it.

The thing is, if he's been voted in democratically, however odious he is and however much I loathe him and his rotten turd of a party then yes, I would rather him as head of state. By a considerable margin, if I'm being honest.

I don't understand how all of you aren't apoplectic. Their existence constantly irritates me. It's nonsensical, regressive, it diminishes all of us, it turns us all into peasants forced to our knees. It is a permanent burning itch under my skin that I can never get rid of.

That every person in Britain is not clamouring for the utter destruction of the monarchy and aristocracy here, in the 21st Century, in the future year of two thousand and twenty six, is the one thing that boggles my mind the most about anything.
