An actual hot take: Too many authors are afraid of editors watering down their voice or whatever and not afraid enough of editors letting you put any old slop on the page.

Of course, we shouldn't kill or hurt anything that can suffer. It shouldn't be about whether it's intelligent. Otherwise, I am certain we'd all be cannibals.

PLEASE name the airline. They'd rather land a whole planeload of people than give up $155 in extra revenue??? Inconvenience an entire airport?
kashhill.bsky.social
This is absolutely wild. I’m on a cross country flight. We are being diverted midway through to Denver. The reason? Some dude is sitting in the exit row who didn’t pay the $155 fee and he refuses to move back to his seat.

Eleven percent is too many. No evidence Tylenol causes autism. Pregnant women with untreated fever have a higher risk of miscarriage and other serious complications

Latest Economist/YouGov poll shows only 11% of respondents think tylenol is a cause of autism. 54% say no: d3nkl3psvxxpe9.cloudfront.net/documents/ec...

Fancy a scientific challenge? Materials science is where the action is, says Honor Powrie, especially if you can find new materials that are technologically sustainable "from cradle to grave". ⚛️🧪

I've covered wars and political unrest around the world. One thing I have seen with my own eyes over and over: If you give young men guns and unfettered authority, they will use them. Even on their fellow citizens. Especially if they are scared, and especially if they are encouraged to hate.

I though Summit County had the best fall colors until we headed down to Custer County in the south of the state. Maybe the moose was also going there. #fall #colorado #leafpeeping
Sunrise scene shows red, gold, orange and yellow aspen interspersed with dark green firs aganist a cler blue sky with a few white clouds and smoky gray and blue mountains in the distance. Yes, it looks fake. Aspen with yellow, gold and orange leaves catch the morning sunlight against a brilliant blue sky. A dark green fir contrasts.

It's not often a moose pops out on the trail right in front of you, but this one did this week in Colorado. He was headed downhill for the evening and did not care one bit that he startled me and the one other hiker he nearly knocked over. He mooseyed on down the slope. #moose #wildlife
A dark brown moose with long dewlap (beard-like flap under its jaw) and antlers walks among aspen trees with white trunks and yellow leaves. A fallen trunk is in the foreground. A mountain hillside covered with many yellow aspen trees, firs of various greens, and yellow and green shrubs slopes away towards blue and brown mountains in the distance. A dark brown moose can be seen about 100 yards downslope. The sky is gray with clouds.
