1/ empathy for our fellow human beings
2/ to raise the political cost of the British government's complicity to the point where London is forced to withdraw its support, thereby increasing the international pressure on Israel to cease its genocidal acts.

It's tempting to treat "the American right is a death cult" as rhetorical hyperbole, but when you look at e.g. their enthusiasm for executing people who are *clearly* innocent, no actually these people really do just worship and revel in death and murder

Good point, as the feeling I get is that a lot of left wing think tanks are currently seeing things from the other perspective, in in that how do they make degrowth etc more palatable (but I suppose I am talking very left wing here, of which there probably aren't loads)

In 2015, it was obvious to me that stopping Eastern Europeans from entering the country was a cipher for deporting black & brown people that have been in the UK for generations.

I knew that because people were literally saying that out loud at the time.

This is not news, this was the next step.

I've thought before that one thing that might be playing a part in the values-based political age divide in this country is those above a certain age who experienced corporal punishment at school and those below a certain age you didn't (plus other parenting differences over the years)
