Thinking today about Jessica Sunderland, who won her civil rights case against a jail for denying her hormones, forcing her to detransition while incarcerated a decade ago. I met her and wrote about her case for @theappeal.org in December 2018:

My primary care doctor in the US told me that every doctor in the practice has long COVID from the summer strain that I caught in 2024.
They are all masked and I haven’t been there for years because I didn’t want to get infected in the waiting room.

While responding to a ShotSpotter alert, a Chicago police officer opened fire on an unarmed child in his backyard lighting fireworks.
If you have the financial ability, please donate so the fund can ensure any comrades who are arrested in support of a free Palestine will be able to get out of jail. Raising bail funds is also class solidarity, as it makes participating in actions more accessible to poor and working class people.

We have quickly gone from normalizing mass infection and mass death from COVID to normalizing mass infection of other diseases like measles. This shows how closely all public health is connected, and how dangerous it is to downplay the spread of any disease.
