My experiences have been very similar.
I remember being told that this whole fake Brexit referendum is just a strategic move to ensure that the ultra-right wing of Tories and Farage will disappear from the mainstream of shaping British politics for a generation, if not two. Some of the people who told me that still have six-digit jobs.

What is the logic here?
I don't understand.
How can anyone believe that security guarantees will be credible in the future (which presupposes a bold resolution to intervene militarily) when, today, the Alliance states refuse to act against a russia that's less dangerous than it will be tomorrow?

Reminder that Putin has never said he wants a trilateral meeting, had never said he would respect Ukrainian sovereignty, and has never said he wants to end the war. Not to be a downer, but the discussion of security guarantees is premature.

Většina se ještě desítky let vymlouvala, že nevěděla. Milena Jesenská (* 10. 8. 1896) měla jasno už v roce 1936, kdy kvůli stalinskému teroru v SSSR vystoupila z KSČ.
Komunisté se jí nestačili pomstít jako jiným. Statečná novinářka, překladatelka, účastnice odboje zemřela roku 1944 v koncentráku.
