I am a bee and I use all six of my delicate insect limbs and fat fuzzy ass to work on video games such as WE KNOW THE DEVIL, HEAVEN WILL BE MINE, NEON WHITE and some other stuff.
DSII was how they figured out how to mass produce dark souls. A lot of it is wierd, and many experiments do not pan out, and there's a whole lot of it (some of which sucks), but you don't get to Elden Ring without it.
It's been so critically rehabilitated now DSIII is the most unfairly maligned one.

The best part is talking to one of them after the quest and she says it again for nothing. It was a highly spiritual moment for me.

Players don't know what they want, are wrong about everything, and my main goal as a designer is to make them feel as bad as possible.
