It is. It’s happening in Groningen too. Pretty shocking considering they closed the fracking field because of damage caused to properties. isds.bilaterals.org?aftershock-i...

That must have been close to being grounded (no pun intended) by that raised kerb.

if only a bunch of "cancel it" weirdos hadn't given a smokescreen for government to bin off the continuous cycle route that was originally planned for all the ex haul roads

Interesting that these delivery robots are being used on the pavement. I can't find any type approval or permissions.

I did find a 2022 Cambridge Council doc that says the DfT advised as yet no legal definition but they were likely motor vehicles and not permitted on pavement.

Realistically though, they’re going to really struggle in most towns where dropped kerbs aren’t everywhere, footways blocked by cars etc. so they’ll be fine on certain routes, not if you’re unlucky enough to live elsewhere. Prioritise making short car trips harder to reduce thoughtless journeys

Even longer if they get turned on their side…

Council playing fast and loose with legislation. I’ve seen that they were told by the DfT that there is no legal classification for them (as there isn’t for eScooters, but that they’re likely to be seen by a court as a motor vehicle. Needs challenging.

This is the 2.1 mounted. I didn’t measure the actual width mounted and this is a photo from the other year. I just used the Winter on the back last year because i couldn’t be bothered fighting with the belt drive and cables when the deeper snow came! Especially as in the UK snow doesn’t last long.

Schalbe. The one I have is 2.1 and I thought that was the biggest they do, but it seems they make a 2.25 if you can find one. They work really well in deeper/loose snow, but are even noisier than the Winters on bare asphalt. www.schwalbe.com/en/Ice-Spike...

I have the 2.15 on the back of my Load 75. It’s not too bad in that it doesn’t look out of place. Before i got that i had the 2” and that’s a much lower profile as well as width, and on the wide rims it just looked stupid and felt harsh. I have an Ice Spiker for the rear too - wish they made a 20”.

I use Sport Rollers on the back of the Tern. They are excellent, and for the few times i go into the office I can fit my small laptop in there. I’m putting off replacing my work laptop because the new ones are bulkier.

Cheers. I’ll look at those.
