We show that placed perceived as unsafe in _ones own_ neighborhood tend to be located near schools, stores and parks.

Yup, big increase. No idea what's going on because also a smaller increase in knife violent crimes. Hard to tell if they're playing games with categorization or the means of crime have changed.

Now with 7 weeks of data on each side National Guard deployment in DC. Reported violent gun crime in DC is down 44%. Homicides during this period went down 22 to 11.
(Last year during the same two time periods before and after August 11, there were 28 and 24 homicides and many more gun crimes.)

Given that NIJ stopped funding additional development of Crime Solutions, I scraped the website and archived the reviews in a permanent location using ardrive.

Couple of charts I wanted to share that show the extreme surge in China's trade surplus over Europe this year.

This one shows change for each member state over first 9 months of 2025. Germany way out in front, but Sweden, Hungary, Finland, Bulgaria, France with huge swings...

Yep, homicide also down massively since early 2000s.

Flip side is that fraud is now the bulk of all UK crime (~40%) but hardly given time of day. Cutting fraud is an economic growth strategy...

Imagine how much we could bring down crime if we put the same resources into policing. I mean, the National Guard standing around brought about a 35% reduction in violent gun crime. We could do much more with legal and constitutional policing.
