I don't smoke, that's burning flux; en constante búsqueda de las condiciones perfectas para hacer una traducción del Quijote al estilo Western
I like reguetón. There is a genre that is trying to be passed off as reguetón and it is not. It uses a reguetón beat and the cheesiest possible lovesick lyrics.

This is not reguetón. This is lloretón.

I will not be taking questions.

@kairyssdal.bsky.social "When was the last time you walked into a grocery store and paid with stablecoins?"

Actually, yesterday. And the day before that. MetaMask Card!

Thank you, though, for mentioning the T-note issue. It sometimes keeps me up at night 🫣

I saw this image and my brain immediately went "Looking up / At the one man in this room / Who's handled more cocaine than me"

@themountaingoats.bsky.social My son was reading through the "list of polearms" on Wikipedia (crossword, long story)

And the question arose: have you ever considered getting into knives... On sticks?

You could go up and down the buffet several *more* times tbh

I'm with Why. I gained a reputation as an LLM skeptic curmudgeon early on at work, *but*, I use them daily, mostly for code.

In my experience, if you don't already know what's going on with the code... Neither does the clanker. And that bill comes due eventually (denominated in $TCHNCL-DBT 🫣🫠)

Theyre pretty great for writing code when you know what you need to do, and how to tell if its done a good job or not. Treating it like extra fancy autocomplete is the way (for code at least)
There are a lot of critiques of LLMs that I agree with but "they suck and aren't useful" doesn't really hold water.

I understand people not using them because of social, economic, and environmental concerns. And I also understand people using them because they can be very useful.

Thoughts?

Proposal: backform the verb 'schell' from the term 'schelling point'

It's fun because it has homonyms

It's chaotic because it could be a phrasal verb, but flexibly so

"We schelled around that point initially, but in terms of implementation..."

"Looks like they're schelling up to a proposal"

And thus, they entered into the Fourth of July festival phase; and night was as day, and the word "boomer" ceased to mean 'boring and old', and instead meant 'excitingly dangerous'

Well, today I learned that sewing velcro into PVC fabric is really quite difficult and has limited guarantees of looking good

But I'm sure many of you with more exciting social lives than mine already knew that

On the one hand, I really don't think that breaking Spanish grammar is the way to fix this. On the other, whatever!

I'm just wondering how we pronounce it. I lean towards a more 16th-century/Portuguese vibe, like, "amishes", rather than some obnoxious "ah-miks-es"

I identify as a millennial

I live in an American suburb

It's a warm Sunday, and I've been outside all day, minimal screens

I've made real things with my hands and sweated

I just drank from a hose

...from what I understand, this was the cheat code to reset American society. Did it work?
