NZ can be so much better than this. Our next Labour government will be focussed on getting back to basics. A place for everyone to call home. World-class public health & education. Support for those that need it. And good guardianship of our natural environment. www.labour.org.nz/speech-chris...

This is happening on the National Party’s watch.

Tax cuts for unproductive housing speculators, firing masses of public servants, stopping construction projects - all pulling the rug out from under the economy. The multiplier effect multiplying the damage. #nzpol

This is such a good piece from Madeleine Chapman about media bias and impartiality. Just in case anyone missed it yesterday while on the hīkoi like I did thespinoff.co.nz/politics/19-...
Who gets to have an opinion on the hīkoi and who must remain ‘impartial’?
Newsrooms of old were apparently more impartial. But that’s only because everyone shared the same biases.

Oops

When Parliament extended the time for checking special votes, the 28 day period where a Minister can continue in office while not being an MP wasn't changed. Which means, if there's a recount, it may expire before the writ is returned and come Sunday, we may not have a PM. From Graeme Edgeler.
