As a childless person I have zero issues with redistributing wealth from folks like myself to parents, but explicitly putting a tax on childless people (instead of tax credit or breaks for parents as we already do) is the best way to nuke the whole idea and reactions to this were pretty predictable.

My most controversial take on this is probably that while I think reproductive freedom should be sacrosanct, I don’t really have any problem with additional taxes on (high income) childless people. Someone gotta pay into the pensions!

Mani divi centi - "vērtību signalizēšana" ir laba, arī tad, ja signalizētāji liekulīgi tās ne vienmēr ievēro. Cieņas un pilsonīga tikuma signalizēšana (arī performatīva), ir diez gan svarīga, lai saglabātu normu, ka tās ir nepieciešamas labi funkcionējošai sabiedrībai.
